At Groomer.org ("we", "our", or "us"), we value and respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect when you visit our website, submit business listings, send inquiries, or purchase directory subscriptions, and how that information is used and protected.

1. Information We Collect

  • Business Profile Information: Information submitted by pet groomers or collected from publicly available directories, including business name, physical address, service areas, telephone numbers, websites, social media links, service descriptions, and business photos.
  • Account & Registration Details: When you register or claim a profile, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and a securely hashed password. Plaintext passwords are never saved.
  • Consumer Communications & Reviews: Inquiries submitted through groomer contact forms or reviews submitted with ratings, pet details, and reviewer feedback.
  • Payment & Billing Data: Subscriptions are processed directly by our payment partner, Stripe. We never store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full payment details on Groomer.org servers.

2. Privacy-Friendly Analytics & Telemetry

Groomer.org utilizes privacy-friendly internal analytics to track engagement events (such as profile views, telephone clicks, and booking link interactions). We do not sell tracking profiles to data brokers. IP addresses and user agents are cryptographically hashed for rate-limiting and bot-prevention without storing persistent individual identities.

3. Cookies

We use strictly necessary functional session cookies to keep groomers logged in and protect against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). When available on supported secure connections, cookies are marked with HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, and Secure attributes. We do not use third-party behavioral advertising cookies.

4. California Consumer Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to request disclosure of personal information collected about you, request deletion of your data, and request correction of inaccurate records.
